Yates City – John G. Cummins, 47, of Yates City, passed away at 9:18 a.m., on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on December 30, 1969, in Peoria, to Harold “Pete” D. and Cheryl A. (Threw) Cummins. John is survived by his mother and his sister, Kim (Vaughn) Kumlander of Mapleton. He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private burial of ashes at Yates City Cemetery with close friends and family will be held at a later date. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Community Center in Yates City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elba-Salem Fire Department.
