Bill Edwards

Canton- Bill Edwards, 75, of Canton, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at his home in Canton.

He was born on April 17, 1944, in New Berlin, Illinois, to Harry and Gladys (Dearing) Edwards.

Preceding him in death are his parents and one infant brother, Byron Edwards.

He is survived by three daughters, Paige (Mark Powers) Edwards of Liverpool Illinois, Leigh Edwards of Peoria Heights Illinois, and Monica (Matthew) Stahl of Lewistown, two brothers, Larry (Carolyn) Edwards of Canton, and Don (Sandra) Edwards of Vero Beach Florida, one sister Carolyn (Bob) Runyan of Canton, and five grandchildren.

Bill retired from Caterpillar in Peoria, he also retired from Citi Link in Peoria.

Bill enjoyed his cars and researching his family's genealogy, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was very generous with his time and always enjoyed helping family and friends.

Cremation rites will be accorded, Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton is entrusted with the services. A burial of his ashes will be held at a later date, at the Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Illinois. There will be no service per his wishes.

Sasha Anderson

Farmington-Sasha Anderson, 35, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at her residence.

She was born on July 8, 1984 in Chula Visata, CA to Dennis and Kimberly (Armentrout) Robinstein.

She married Shawn Anderson on June 9, 2013 in Canton. He survives.

Also surviving is her mother of Texas, five children, Destiny Stewart of Farmington, Autumn Stewart of Champaign, Annika Anderson of Farmington, Shawn Anderson Jr of Farmington, Angel Robinstein of Pekin, one brother, Cephas Robinstein of FL and three sisters, Cassie Curran of FL, Tabitha Robinstein of CA and Megan Robinstein of FL.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Terran Robinstein.

Sasha worked as a CPA assistant for Joseph Runkle CPA in Peoria. She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints.

Cremation rites will be accorded, Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton is entrusted with the services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Robert R. Sheets

Robert R. Sheets, 64, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:43 PM on Friday, March 27, 2020 at his residence. He was born on May 2, 1955 in St. Augustine, a son of Roy Duane “Dewey” and Linda (Dennis) Sheets. He married Michele Noel. she survives.

Also surviving is his mother, Linda Sheets of Lewistown, four children, Michelle (Jason) Miller of Bath; Robbie (Lauren) Sheets of Pekin; Amanda (Ed) Wilcox of Lewistown; Schreen (Josh) Ogden of Lewistown; nine grandchildren, and expecting one great-grandchild ; four brothers, Rick Sheets of Little America; Tony (Marla) Sheets, Harold (Cris) Sheets, and Terry Sheets, all of Lewistown; three sisters, Susan (Dave) Fouts of Ipava, Carol Pasley of Sta David, and Kay (Chad) Wilson of Lewistown.

Robert worked and retired from P&W Builders in Peoria after many years of service, was a member of the Farmington Moose Lodge, he was avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed fantasy football,  fisherman, and loved to mushroom hunt, liked going to auctions, and old cars, he enjoyed playing games with his family especially croquet, was an avid poker and card player, but most of all was getting together with his family.

Harold G. Lynch

Cuba- Harold G. Lynch, 87, of Cuba, passed away at 3:25 PM Thursday March 26, 2020 at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

He was born January 11, 1933 at Canton, the son of Harry and Edith (Mills) Lynch. He married Virginia “Ginger” Power. She preceded him in death along with his parents, one son, Harold Gene Lynch, and one sister. Survivors include four children, Rod (Debbie) Lynch of Cuba, Ronnie (The late Jalyn) Lynch of Cissna Park, Susie (Russell) Johnson of Cuba, and Harry (Becky) Lynch of Fiatt, ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Harold was a lifelong farmer and also retired from International Harvester. He was a member of the Fulton County Fair Board for many years. He had great love of horses and was the owner of Central Illinois Starting Gates, and a member of the Thoroughbred Association.

Due to the pandemic restrictions, a private family graveside service and burial will be held at Cuba Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced by Henry-Lange Memorial Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clayberg Nursing Home Activity Fund. Marvis L. Smith

Canton-Marvis L. Smith, 96, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at her residence.

She was born on October 18, 1923 in Cherokee County, Kansas, to Floyd and Fern (Cale) Spriggs. 
They preceded her in death.

She married Tony Ferro on May 17, 1945.  He preceded her in death on May 9, 1984.  She later married James Smith and he also preceded her in death on November 22, 2006.

Survivors include one son James (Peggy) Ferro of Summerville, S.C., one daughter, LouAnn (the late Robert) Delost of Farmington and one sister Roberta Mahany of Canton.

Also surviving are two step-sons, David (Dana) Smith, Charles (Sheri) Smith of Canton, four grandchildren, Jeff (Tracy) Delost of Norris, Jennifer (James) Mies of Dunlap, Beth (Gary) Ferro-Nace of Wilmington, N.C., Kim (Danny) Ray of Charleston, S.C., three step grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Michelle (Mike) Bair of Canton, Scott (Sherrie) Smith of Georgetown, TX four great grandchildren, Anthony J. and Izabella Delost, Rachel and Marshall Mies and six step great grandchildren, Truett Smith, Maegan Vardo, Shelby Smith, Emily (Randall) Koch, Ashlee (Clinton) Shaffer, Halle Bair and two great great grandchildren, Kolton Koch and Kason Koch.

Also preceding her in death is one step great great grandchild, Kaden Koch.

Marvis graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1940.  She earned a Bachelors and Master’s degree in education from Western Illinois University in Macomb.  She taught in Kansas, Farmington and Canton teaching for 29 ½ years all together.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Canton and was an over 60 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Marvis was a loving mother and grandmother to all he children and grandchildren. 
A private graveside service is to be held at the Oak-Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.  This service will be live streamed via the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 1pm on Monday, March 30, 2020.

Donald G. Pruden

Canton- Donald G. Pruden, 78, of Canton, passed away, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born on May 25, 1941 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, to Charles and Evelyn (McWane).

He is survived by his wife Judy Kay (Seyller) Pruden whom he married on January 12, 1967.

Also surviving are four children, Brian (Janie) Pruden of Aztec New Mexico, Dawnel Hammond of Canton Illinois, Devin Pruden of Washington Illinois, and Derek Pruden of Des Moines Iowa, one brother, John (Connie) Pruden, and one sister Carol (Terry) Elliott of Murfreeboro, Tennessee, two grandchildren, Addison Hammond and Trace Hammond, and one great grandchild. Preceding him in death is his parents and on grandson, Keith Pruden.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1967 until 1969 during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany.
Don retired from Degussa Mapleton plant in 2001 after 38 years. He enjoyed hunting fishing, and archery. He also enjoyed going to the Canton Family Restaurant for morning coffee.

Due to the IDPH COVID – 19 Mandates a private graveside service will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. At a later date when permitted a celebration of life will be held. More information for the celebration will be posted when available.

Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Kevin Carl Reinhardt

Canton – Kevin Carl Reinhardt, 62, of Canton, passed away at 5:09 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at his residence. He was born on May 8, 1957 in Canton to Max R. and Juanita (Picton) Reinhardt.

Surviving is his mother, Juanita Reinhardt of Canton; two children, Chris Reinhardt of CA and Hanna Reinhardt of OR; one grandson, Landen Reinhardt; one brother, Max Reinhardt of Lewistown, IL; and two sisters, Julie (Larry) Patridge of CA and Teresa (Ken) Herrig of Dubuque, IA.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Randy Reinhardt.

Kevin worked as a plumber of Olson Plumbing in California. He was a past member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in California. Kevin enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, IL. Memorials can be made to The Family for Funeral Expenses.
