Donald G. Pruden


Canton- Donald G. Pruden, 78, of Canton, passed away, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born on May 25, 1941 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, to Charles and Evelyn (McWane).

He is survived by his wife Judy Kay (Seyller) Pruden whom he married on January 12, 1967.

Also surviving are four children, Brian (Janie) Pruden of Aztec New Mexico, Dawnel Hammond of Canton Illinois, Devin Pruden of Washington Illinois, and Derek Pruden of Des Moines Iowa, one brother, John (Connie) Pruden, and one sister Carol (Terry) Elliott of Murfreeboro, Tennessee, two grandchildren, Addison Hammond and Trace Hammond, and one great grandchild. Oliver Denning.
Preceding him in death is his parents and on grandson, Keith Pruden.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1967 until 1969 during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany.
Don retired from Degussa Mapleton plant in 2001 after 38 years. He enjoyed hunting fishing, and archery. He also enjoyed going to the Canton Family Restaurant for morning coffee.

Due to the IDPH COVID – 19 Mandates a private graveside service will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. At a later date when permitted a celebration of life will be held. More information for the celebration will be posted when available.

Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home will have the capabilities of Facebook live streaming the service, the live stream will start at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2020.
