She was cherished by numerous nieces and nephews, JR Onken, JD and Amy Onken, Ben and Traci Onken, Mike, Maria, Melanie, of the Long family; great nieces and nephews, Justin and Mariah Onken, Jessica Onken, and her husband-to-be Michael Gordan, Emily and Emmett Onken, and Great great niece, Audrey Onken.
Sue was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables, known for her canned corn. She and Jack loved fishing especially at Matanzas Lake. In their retirement Sue and Jack were also Gypsy Moth inspectors for the State of Illinois in the Shawnee Forest for many years. Sue was a life member of VFW Ladies Auxillary. Sue loved any and all FROGS!
Mrs. Mowder was of the Catholic faith.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Havana. Fr. Geoff Horton will officiate.
