Lennie E. Dowell

Lennie E. Dowell, 81, of Manito, passed away at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, at 11:56 a.m., on Friday, January 2, 2026. She was born October 29, 1944, in Peoria, Illinois, to Clarence and Clarice (Martin) Donaldson. She married Donald Dowell at the Forest City Community Church, in 1963. He survives.

Mrs. Dowell is survived by her husband, Don, of Manito; two children: Susan Dowell, of Morton, and Daniel (Marsha) Dowell, of Pekin; two grandchildren: Drake and Jaycee; as well as one sister: Carolyn (Donald) Hailey, of Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Dowell was a member of Forest City Community Church. She was a bookkeeper for Forman and Midwest Central Schools, in Manito, for over thirty-five years. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, Snapchatting with her grandchildren and coloring.
A memorial service will be held at Maas-Hurley Funeral Home, in Manito, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the services. Rev. Frank Brozenac will officiate.
