Beatrice Meeker

Beatrice Meeker, 84, of Canton, passed away at 8 am on January 1, 2026 at Red Oak Memory Care in Canton. She was born on January 18, 1941 in Havana to James and Nellie (Chenoweth) Schisler. Bea married David Meeker on December 30, 1982 in Jacksonville. He survives along with four daughters; Becky (Montie) Wilcoxen of Canton, Shellie (Perri) Green of Canton, Carla (Jim) Wright of Bloomington and Angie (Carey) Davis of Hudson, one brother Curt (Linda) Schisler of Ipava, two sisters; Barb Dohner of Ipava and Susan (David) Blickhan of Quincy, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Bea was the owner/operator of Fabra-Knit in Lewistown for many years. She also worked at the Barton-Stone Home in Jacksonville and the National Benevolent Association in St. Louis. Bea was a pianist and choir director at churches in Lewistown, Jacksonville, St. Louis and accompanied student musicians at competitions. Bea was an avid quilter, crafter and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was a member of First Christian Church in Canton.

Services will be at 12 noon January 7, 2026 at the First Christian Church in Canton where visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. A luncheon will follow at the church. Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm January 7, 2026 in Ipava Cemetery in Ipava. Memorials may be made to her church.
