Cindy Lou Vance, 62, of Pekin, passed away at Carle Methodist Hospital, in Peoria, at 8:04 a.m., on Thursday, January 15, 2026. She was born March 5, 1963, in Pekin, Illinois, to Louis and Alberta (Allen) Vance.Cindy is survived by her life partner, of 41 years, Lisa Gerard; siblings: Ruth Sondag, of Manito, Dorothy Brienen, of Pekin, Jean Vance, Ronald Vance, and Helen Seal, all of Manito, Roger Vance of Missouri, Danny Vance of Okinawa, Japan, Loretta Ferguson, of Pekin; adopted sister, Becky Peplow, of Manito; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters: Beverly Hardin and Marcella Vance.
Cindy was raised in Manito 1st Baptist Church. She loved meeting with her family for lunches on Friday. She was the baby of her siblings and was adored by her family. She rose through the ranks of Pizza Hut for thirty years, before retiring as Area Manager. She later owned and operated Bert’s Hot Stuff Pizza, in Manito, with her sister, Loretta.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Meadowlawn Cemetery, in Manito.
