Eugene "Gene" A. Csicsak

Eugene (Gene) Csicsak, 81, of Canton, passed away on January 3, 2026. He was born on June 11, 1944 in New York City to Anthony and Dorothy (Krushina) Csicsak. He married Violet Cumming. They were together for 47 years. Gene is predeceased by Violet, his parents, and his sister, Barbara (John) Lacey. He is survived by three children: Paulette (David) Rockir of Prescott, AZ, Lisette (Darrel) Hughes of Canton, and David (Jeanette) Csicsak of Litchfield Park, AZ and two grandsons: Ryan Csicsak and Wesley Hughes.

Gene grew up in Queens, NY. After graduating Thomas A. Edison High School, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard serving at stations on eastern Long Island. Upon completion of his service, he worked as a machinist at Grumman Aerospace, and as a mechanic at other locations, until he opened his own machine shop. In the mid-1980s, he transitioned careers working as an electrician, then becoming a general contractor building several houses. At the turn of the 1990’s, he transitioned careers again becoming a private estate manager working at several locations in New York and New Jersey until his retirement in 2009.

He loved to laugh, was good for a joke, and enjoyed time with his family. An avid shooter, he enjoyed competitive shotgun shooting throughout his life.

Cremation rites have been accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton there will be no services.
