Joan Clark

Trivoli – Joan Clark, 89, of Trivoli, passed away at 3:25 AM on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington. She was born on March 9, 1932 in Clinton, Indiana, a daughter of, Cecil H. and Faith M. (Putman) Clayberg. She married Robert E. “Bob” Clark on October 3, 1953 in San Diego, California. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2020.


She is also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Clark; and one brother, James R. Clayberg.

Joan is survived by five children, Karen (Dave) Arrenholz of Trivoli, Sherill (Kenny) Balagna of Farmington, Linda (Kevin) Cotter of Peoria, Janell (Stan) Smith of Denver, Colorado, and Joseph (Wendy) Clark of Farmington; seven grandchildren, Sara (Marcus) Miller of Stroudsburg, PA, Zachary (Heather) Clark of Muscatine, IA, Luke Balagna of Farmington, Josie (Dakota) Horn of Farmington, Jacob (Bonny) Cotter of Gibson City, Issac Cotter of Peoria, and Alex Clark of Farmington; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Clayberg of Cuba, IL

She worked and retired from Ozark/TWA Airlines as an Airline Reservations agent, and was a lifesaving and swim instructor. She was in the Rise & Shine quartet and the Sweet Adelines Chorus. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and singing. Joan was of the Methodist Faith. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. A burial and graveside service will be held at Trivoli Cemetery at a later date.
