Christina Hinkle

Canton- Christina Hinkle, 68, of Canton, passed away at 1:32 PM on Monday January 3, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1953 in Norfolk, Nebraska, a daughter of William and Marion (Goldsworthy) Upton. She married David Hinkle on November 11, 1982 in Fairfield, Iowa. He survives.


Also surviving are her children, Angie (Tank) Rodden of Canton; Ryan (Keegen) Hinkle of Canton; Nick Hinkle of East Peoria; two-stepsons, David (Liz) Hinkle of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Patrick Hinkle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Emily, Maguire, Maverick, Hudson, Holden, Gracie, Elaina, William, four sisters, Vicky (Leonard) Clark of Kirksville, Missouri; Melissa (Terry) Johnson of Lillian, Alabama; Mindy (Bob) Wadell of Loveland, Colorado; Molly (Kelly) Buckallew of Memphis, Missouri; one brother, Bill Upton of Nampa, Idaho; and several nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Charlotte, and one sister-in-law, Jane.

Christina was a loving grandma, and the BEST mom to her children, she enjoyed crafting, was a collector, and was known as the Junk Queen by her family as she and her daughter owned and operated Olde Tattered Junque.

Per Christina’s wishes, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date, and cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory.
