Farmington – Neal L. Watters, 81, of Farmington, passed away at 11:23 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria. He was born April 17, 1936 in Galesburg, IL to Marlin and Mara (Hitchcock) Watters. He married Dixie Elliott on October 19, 1958 in Farmington, IL, she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Chris (Fred) McMaster of Farmington and Cinda (Chris) Ohl of Bettendorf, IA; five grandchildren, Jami (Richard) Crawford, Ryan (Heather) McMaster, Lynsey (Ben) Vermillion, Alex and Kelci Ohl; seven great-grandchildren, Jace and Landon Crawford, Haven and Aniston McMaster, Presley, Easton, and Maddox Vermillion; and one sister, Janet Richardson of St. Charles, IL.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents.
Neal worked as a commercial insurance underwriter for several insurance companies. He was the past mayor of Yates City, IL and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM noon on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of the services. Pastor Glen Edenburn will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Burial of ashes will be at a later date.
