Canton – Charles William Kirk Sr., 76, of Canton, passed away at 7:40 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born on October 9, 1941 in Parkins, AR to J.K. and Ruth (Smith) Kirk. He married Ellen Bennett on May 24, 1979, they were married for 39 years.
Surviving is his wife, Ellen; six children, Pamela Gibson of Havana, IL, Jimmy Neeley of Havana, IL, Jerry Neeley of Humboldt, KS, Lori O’Rear of Centerview, MO, David Kirk of Havana, IL, and Charles William Kirk Jr. of Canton, IL; 21 grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Ruth of Middle Grove, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles worked as a truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith. Charles was a member of Union 176 in Peoria, IL.
Charles served in the Army.
Services will be held at 4 PM Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL, where a visitation will be held from 2-4 PM. Jerry Neeley will officiate. Cremations rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials can be made to the Family for Funeral Expenses in care of Mid America National Bank.
