Doris L. Ridgeway


Cuba - Doris Lucille Ridgeway, 92, of Cuba, passed away October 20, 2017, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on May 13, 1925, in New Philadelphia to Ralph and Minnie (Lance) Vance.
She married Eugene Ridgeway in Lewistown in 1944. He preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; her son, John Ridgeway Sr.; brothers Edward Vance and Jerold Vance; and sister Norma Crouch.
She is survived by daughters Beverly Brown of Cuba (with whom she made her home), and Judy (Gregory) LePine of Peoria; daughter-in-law Kathy Ridgeway of Cuba; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Suzanne (Will) Cable of Folsom, CA.; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris graduated from Cuba High School in 1942. After working more than 45 years as a telephone operator, she retired in 1986 from AT&T, Peoria. She was a lifelong member of the Cuba Christian Church.
Doris’ final wishes were to have a private graveside service for family only. Her final wishes for her friends and all others who knew her were to remember her as she was and to know how she truly treasured those friendships. 
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to any Alzheimer’s organization or the Cass-Putman Rescue Squad.
The Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
