Patrick Alan Phillips


CANTON– Patrick Alan Phillips, 67, of Canton, passed away Sunday, February 12, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Patrick was born on January 17, 1950 in St. Louis, MO to Harry “Bud” and Charlotte (Sebree) Phillips. He married Hila Robertson in Savannah, Tennessee. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Eric (Heather) Phillips of Davidson, North Carolina; two daughters, Tara Phillips of Peoria; Lottie Phillips of Canton; two step-sons, Allen Roberston of Bernadotte, Brian Blakey of OK.; one step daughter, Amy Lawver of Pekin; two grandchildren, Austin Cobb and Bradley Phillips; five step-grandchildren, and one brother, Michael (Judy) Phillips of Tennessee; three sisters, Karen (Cal) Korf of Florida, Trisha (Bruce) Fordyce of Peoria, and Kathleen (Eric) Wright of Canton; uncle and aunt, George (Karolyn) Sebree of Florida, and his beloved dog, Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jason Michael Phillips, one brother, and one step grandchild.
Patrick worked as a Section Manager at Caterpillar in Mossville for over 20 years, retiring in January of 2015; he was an avid St Louis Cardinals fan, and Chicago Bears Fan. He enjoyed all types of racing, and drag raced at a young age and was a stock car racer for many years at the Spoon River Speedway.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1995 North Main Street, Canton, where visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Burial will be in Orendorff-Breeds Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Fulton County Humane Society or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
