Canton – Iris Lancaster 63, of Canton, formerly of Brereton, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on March 26, 1953 in Canton to Harley and Patricia (Wages) Lancaster Hicks.
Surviving is her mother, her boy David E. Bertsche-Nell of Champaign, Nephews, Jason Lancaster and family, Chad Gaylien and family of Galesburg, brother Dennis Lancaster, several cousins and Aunts and Uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, stepfather, Thomas R. Hicks and her baby brother.
Iris retired from Maytag in Galesburg after 30 years of service.
She enjoyed sewing and crafts, concerts, gardening, snowmobiles, motorcycles and sports. She is of the Nazarene faith. Iris was a very caring and loving person and took many children into her home.
Per Iris’ request cremation rites have been accorded.
Burial of the ashes will be at the White Chapel Memory Gardens and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Program.
