Dean Golliher


Mr. Dean Golliher, age 73 of Anna, died at 5:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born August 4, 1943 in Murphysboro, the son of Willard Otis and Mary Jane (Tindall) Golliher. He married Janet Rowley on October 4, 1965 in Murphysboro.
     Dean is survived by his loving wife of fifty one years, Janet Golliher of Anna; mother, Mary Jane (Jim) Rees of Murphysboro; twin brother, William Golliher of Grand Tower; two sisters, Pam (Steve) Allen of Lexington, KY and Patty Bateman of Murphysboro; nieces, Megan (Brent) Teeters of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kirsten Allen of Denver, CO, Gloria Golliher of WI; nephew, Bill Golliher of Grand Tower; great nieces and nephews; brother in law, James (Susan) Rowley of Herrin and their family, Josh Davis, Adam Rowley, Danny Rowley, Sean Daily and Shannon Daily; sisters in law, Margie Brock of Creal Springs, Joanne (Jerry) Dillow of Anna and their family, Jerry (Tiffany) Dillow of Anna, Ashilay, Amanda, Katrina, Austin Dillow, and Dorothy Rowley of Jackson Mo and her family, Kenny Rowley of Cape Girardeau, MO, Julie (Dave) Dryer, Michaela, Jake and Daniel Dryer all of Jackson, MO; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Harry D. Tindall and Edna White Tindall; uncle, James Tindall; and two brothers in law, Randy Bateman and Kenneth Rowley.
     Dean was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murphysboro. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.
     Dean was a radio personality for fifty years at various radio stations throughout Illinois, including WBYS in Canton. He was known best as Dean Cramer on air, he retired from broadcasting in 2009.
     He was a member of the American Legion, and was very active in the Forty and Eight Veterans Organization. He was serving as the first Aumonier of the Forty and Eight Great Lakes Chapter. Dean was an avid lover of music and movies, and throughout the years has acquired quite an extensive collection. He devoted his life to his family, his friends and his hobbies.
     Funeral services for Mr. Dean Golliher will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #127 Honor Guard and the Illinois Army National Guard Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forty and Eight Child Welfare Fund. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
