Canton – Harold “Tubby” Roberts, 87, of Canton, passed away at 4:30 am, Monday, February 20, 2017 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington.
He was born on January 3, 1930, to Earl and Mary Elsie (Latimer) Roberts. Harold married Shirley Balbinot on June 19, 1945 in Canton, she survives along with, two children; Jack (Lisa) Roberts of Maquon Illinois, and David Roberts of North port Florida, one sister Faye Sipes of Canton, three grandchildren Jay(Amy) Roberts, Derek Roberts, and Tori (Matthew) Goedeke, also surviving are four Great-Grandchildren. Proceeding him in death are both parent and one brother Berlyn Roberts.
Harold work as a foreman at OMC in Galesburg, he was a member of The Elks #626 in Canton, The American Legion #644 in Fairview, Harold was a Veteran of The United States Army serving from in Germany.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A private burial of ashes will be held at Norris Cemetery in Norris, Illinois. Memorials may be made out to The Fulton County Humane Society.
