Charles W. Putman


Canton – Charles W. Putman, 81, of Canton passed away at 3:45 am Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Graham Hospital in Canton.  He was born on August 24, 1935 in Ellisville to Franklin and Margaret (Stuckey) Putman.  Charles married Joyce Werry on April 20, 1957 in Canton.  She survives along with two children; Crystal Keller and Troy (Melanie) Putman both of Canton, two sisters; Mary Ellen Freeman and Helen Reffett both of Canton, four grandchildren; Rachel (Cody) Jones, Alaina Keller, Carley Putman, and Gabriel Putman and a great-grandson Berkeley Jones.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Russell, John, Robert, and Gordon, and four sisters; Harriett Burkhead, Maxine Hopkins, Dixie Chatterton, and Vivian Putman.
Charles was the owner/operator of Canton’s Bestway and the Flavor Factory in Cuba.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton and served in the National Guard.
Services will be 11 am, Friday, January 27 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. The Rev. Micah Garnett and Rev.
