Robert J. “Bob” Berry

Canton – Robert J. “Bob” Berry, 70. of Canton, passed away at 6:32 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on December 11, 1945 in Massena, NY to Carlton C. and Marie (Hutchins) Berry.
He married Donna Lycke in Peoria on February 25, 1965. She survives.
Other survivors include four children John “Bear” (Jody) Berry of Pekin, Bobbie Jo Marshall (Steve Seward) of Canton, Tina Phillips (Bob Edwards) of Springfield, and Anna Rife of Peoria Heights, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four siblings Elizabeth Carpentier of Dunfermline, Karla Balagna of Galesburg, Michael Berry of Louisiana, and Sandra (Ken) Holterfield of St. Louis, MO., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Carlton J. Berry and Dale A. Berry and great-grandson Noah Kuzniar (2004).
Bob was a roofing contractor for over 50 years with Berry Roofing. He served as a policeman for the city of Fairview and Dunfermline, Canton Park District and City of Canton Auxiliary Police. He also worked security for the Elam Private Detective Agency.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
