Dale Nichols

Farmington – Gordon Dale Nichols, 90, of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, January 05, 2016, at his residence.

He was born on March 31, 1925, in Rosie, Arkansas, to Guy and Beulah (Bowman) Nichols.  They preceded him in death.

He married the love of his life, Betty Sornson, on July 31, 1947, in Bassett, Arkansas.  She survives.

Also surviving are their children, Vernon Nichols, Kay Faralli, Rodney (Cathy) Nichols, Jimmy Nichols, Carol (Terry) Dicks, all of Farmington, brothers, Jim and Billy Nichols, grandchildren, Angie and Gina Faralli, Trent (Kim) Dicks, Beth Nichols, David (Coral) Nichols, Brett (Courtney) Dicks, Scott and Chett Dicks and great grandchildren, Shelbey, Trista, Kylie, Tryce, Anna and Riley.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Bob Faralli, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Dale retired from Caterpillar after 31 years of service.  He spent his retirement enjoying life.  He was a master gardener; he could make anything grow.  Actually, he could do anything and was always up to lending a hand, whether it was fixing a car or building a garage, he’d know how to do it.  Incredibly proud of his family, Dale loved spending time with them.  He also liked country music, fishing, word searches, thick-cut bacon, pecan pie and lawns mowers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at the Tivoli Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Farmington Rescue Squad or the Farmington Food Pantry.
