Fiatt – Stephen Ross Hardesty,
77, of Fiatt, passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Prairieview
Care Center in Lewistown.
He was born January 26, 1937 in
Canton, to Charles L. and Anna K. (Kuntz) Hardesty. His father preceded him in death on May 24,
1986, and his mother preceded him in death on August 1, 2013. He was also preceded in death by one brother,
Charles Edward and one nephew, Charles Lewis III.
He is survived by one brother,
David L. Hardesty of Canton and one sister, Shirley J. Munson of rural Canton;
4 nephews, 3 grand-nephews, 5 great-nieces, 3 great-great-nephews, and 1
great-great-niece.
Stephen was honorably discharged
from the Illinois National Guard.
Previously, he had worked at Norris Farms and Old Midland Coal
Company. He attended church services at
Prairieview and enjoyed their activities, especially Bingo.
Cremation rites have been
accorded. Graveside services will be
announced at a later date. Oaks-Hines
Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
