Canton – Shirley E. Jarnagin, 88,
of Canton died at 4:42 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Graham Hospital
Emergency Room in Canton.
She was born October 18, 1926 in
Canton, to Howard and Fern (Sexton) Essex.
She married Russell Cattron on May 31, 1963. He preceded her in death on September 18,
1969. She later married Bud
Jarnagin. He preceded her in death on
June 6, 1985.
She is survived by three
children, Judy Eddy, Jim (Marcie) Myers, and Kathy Eskridge, all of Canton; one
brother, Jack Essex of Dunfermline; one sister, Barbara Balbinot of Canton; ten
grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren (with another due in May); and nine
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; one brother, and two sisters.
Shirley enjoyed working, and
retired from Viano’s in Norris after 39 years.
Funeral services will be held at
11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton,
with Rev. Kevin VanTine officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral
home. Burial will be at Fairview
Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude
Children’s Hospital.
