Milan - Dorothy M. Pearce, 73, of Milan and formerly
of Cuba passed away at 2:45 PM Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Trinity Medical
Center in Rock Island.
She was born April 20, 1941 in Bernadotte the
daughter of Clarence and Georgia Leona (Morrow) Matheny. She married George H.
Pearce on April 1, 1960. Surviving is one son, Robert (Mary Beth) Pearce of
Moline, one daughter, Carol (Robbie) Reed of Stockton, IA; one brother, Harley
Matheny of Abingdon, one sister, Martha “Cindy” Allen of Milan, 13
grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dog Teddy. She was preceded
in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and a special friend, David
W. Thomsen.
Dorothy worked at Genesis Health Care and Eagles
Warehouse in Milan and retired from both. She loved spending time with her
grandchildren and playing on her computer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at
the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Reverend Larry Wright officiating.
Burial will be in Baughman Cemetery at rural Smithfield. Visitation will be
held 1 hour prior to services at the memorial home.
