Charleen Gilpin

Morton, IL - Charleen J. Gilpin, 81, formerly of Canton, passed away at 2:15 am, Friday, January 2, 2015, at the Morton Villa Care Center in Morton.
Charleen was born in Taylor Springs, IL on April 4, 1933 to Charles and Jane (Dale) Tovrea.
She was married to Sherwood "Woody" Gilpin from 1959-1979.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mitch Scott of Tremont; and three grandchildren, Drew, TJ & Abby Scott.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, five sisters and her former husband.
Charleen lived in Canton most of her life. She graduated from Canton High School, and worked as a secretary for Caterpillar prior to the birth of her daughter. After that time she was a homemaker and later, the manager of Hicks Gas Station in Canton. Before her retirement she also worked at Mooseheart Children's Home in Mooseheart, IL and Salem Children's Home in Flanagan, IL. She moved to Morton in 2012.
Services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at the White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
