Larry Cook

Canton - Larry A. Cook, 81, of Canton, passed away at 6:35 am, Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was born on January 20, 1933 in Canton to Sam and Verla Griffin Cook.
He married Peggy J. Jones on September 1, 1956 in Lewistown. She survives.
Also surviving is one sister June (late Kenneth) Anderson of Canton, sister in laws Charlotte (the late Forest "Beaver") Cook of Canton, Ve (the late Jack) of Canton and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his brothers Russell (the late Leah) Cook, Bill (the late Ann) cook, and sisters Bea (the late Paul) Campbell and Bobbie (the late Chet) Gibson.
Larry served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the America Legion Post #16. He worked as a barber for 60 years and also was a Realtor for several years. He was a 51 year member of the Elks Lodge #626 where he served 4 years as Exalted Ruler and past Vice President of the West District of Elks.
He served on the Friendship Festival Committee for 9 years and served 2 years as the President. He was of the Christian faith.
Larry's life should be measured not by the number of years but rather by the love shared, the memories made, the joy given and the blessings received.
Per Larry's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services.
Burial of the ashes will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown at a later date.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Elks Lodge #626.
