Also, preceding Wanda in death, were her parents, children, Robert Kirk Carmack, Kathryn Lynn Price, Daniel Keach Carmack, Christopher Mark Carmack, granddaughter, Caitlin Place, and her longtime companion, Kenneth Etcheson.
Surviving Wanda is a brother, Morris Bloomfield of Canton; sister, Roberta Lovelace of Venice, Florida; five grandchildren, Lucas Price, Keith Carmack, Robert Carmack, Erin Carmack, and Sarah Carmack. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, two daughters-in-law’s, Mary Ellen Carmack, and Denise Jarvis, several nieces and nephews, whom were dearly loved by her.
Wanda graduated from Canton High School in 1951, and started working as a secretary for L.C. Groat, the CEO for Spoon River Electric in Canton, and later was co-owner and bookkeeper for Chubb’s package Store in Canton. She was a seventy plus year member of the First Christian Church in Canton, where she served on several committees and as a deacon, and also represented the church on the board of directors of Graham Hospital for several years, and was a driver for meals on wheels. Wanda was a longtime member and past president of JQ Chapter PEO, a member of the Altruistic Club for 40 plus years. Her beloved book club and bridge club were a big part of her life. She loved cooking, entertaining, and celebrating life with her family and friends, as she hosted many holiday and birthday dinners, and enjoyed decorating Christmas cookies with her grandchildren. As a woman that was 91 years old, she was very thankful and grateful for her long life.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the First Christian Church of Canton. Rev. Steve Mason will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial of ashes will be private in Greenwood Cemetery.
