Patricia Ashton 92, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born on July 23, 1932 in Fulton County to Harold and Ione (Ossman) Ray.
She married Robert Ashton on June 27, 1954 in Canton. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2005.
Surviving are her children, Deborah Ashton of Canton, Tracie (Andrew) Slotin of Mt Pleasant, S.C., one brother, Gene Ray of Canton and four grandchildren, Blake Barnett, Travis Barnett, George Slotin and Isabella Slotin.
Pat worked at Caterpillar in Peoria before she started working at Ed’s Drive Inn in Canton, lastly working at Chubb’s Liquor Store in Canton.
She was an animal lover and enjoyed feeding her squirrels and birds.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton and a private burial of the ashes will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
