Eugene was born March 2, 1941, in Elmwood. Eugene married Linda Long on March 24, 1962, in Farmington. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2010.
Eugene is survived by four children, Stacey Polen of Woodridge, IL, Eric (Kathy) Polen of Elmwood, IL, Shauna (Steve) Jurick of Bartonville, IL, and Shannan (Jimmy) Sloup of Plainfield, IL; and two grandchildren, Zackary (Kaylee) Polen and Lauren Polen.
Eugene is also preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and Floyd McClintock.
Floyd and Eugene owned and operated Southport Sand and Gravel for many years. Later on, Eugene worked out of the Union Hall for Operating Engineers Local #649. He also was a volunteer fireman for the Elmwood Fire Department for 25 years.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Elmwood Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elmwood Fire Department and B.Y.E. Ambulance.
