He was born on July 27, 1935 in Canton to Bramley “Boo” and Esther (Peterson) Whitehead.
He married Phyllis Horton on May 17, 1957 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Douglas Whitehead of Canton, Angie Latimer of Lewistown, four grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Gerald was a self-employed accountant at Whitehead accounting from 1957-2015. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church the Odd Fellows, Canton Rotary Club, Kiwanis and served on the Canton Union School District #66 Board.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. There will be no services.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
