Born on March 9, 1966, in Wabash, Indiana, to Jerry and Juanita Goodin. His mother preceded him in death. He was raised with his two sisters, Lisa and Missy. Jerry served in the Army Reserves as a young man, achieved an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences, and retired from Knox College in 2022 after over 20 years of employment. He loved physics and enjoyed talking about it to anyone who would listen. In his free time, he gardened and kept bees. Any opportunity to gather friends and family together around a bonfire or a football game was one of his greatest joys (especially if the Chicago Bears were playing).
Jerry is remembered for his kind and generous heart, and loved his family above all else. A graveside service will be held on February 21st, 2025 at 11 AM in Elmore Cemetery, Elmore, IL. Directly following the graveside there will be a funeral luncheon hosted at the Williamsfield Legion Hall, Williamsfield, IL. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
The funeral arrangements are by the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood.
