She was born on February 5, 1950 in Canton to Floyd and Violet (Dilts) Putman.
She married Ronald Melvin on July 16, 1971 in Canton. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Julie (Kevin) McKinley of Lewistown, Rebecca (Cory) Sheets of Canton, Ronnie (Jennifer) Melvin of Canton, Kimmie (Brian) Whewell of Versailles, one sister, Helen (Richard) Kington of IN, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death is her parents, five brothers, six sisters and one grandchild.
Violet had several jobs in her life but the one she loved the most was being a mom, grandma, great grandma and great great-grandma. She enjoyed being with all her family and drinking her Pepsi.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please subscribe to her obituary to receive updates.
