He was born April 7, 1939, in Peoria, IL, to Henry and Sophia “Ellen” (Shea) Groeper. He married Judith “Judy” Keyser on September 22, 1961, in Elmwood. She survives.
Bob is also survived by two children Brian (Amy) Groeper of Brimfield and Bonnie (Vicente) Rodriguez of Mackinaw; one brother, Paul Groeper; one sister, Mary Groeper; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Kattie) Groeper, Isaiah (Anna LeCrone) Groeper, Luke Groeper, and Ethan Rodriguez; two great-grandchildren, Bexley and Willa; and one great-granchild on-the-way.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother; one brother, James Groeper; and one sister, Rita Groeper.
Bob was a Mechanic at Caterpillar for 30 years and was also a part-time farmer. He served in the Air Force and in the 182nd Air National Guard for 6 years. He was also a member of the #974 American Legion and a member of the Brimfield United Methodist Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Brimfield United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the church. Burial of his ashes will be held at LeHigh Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance and the Brimfield United Methodist Church.
