Iva is survived by three children, Susan (Brent) Elliott of Yates City, Jeanne Johnston of Lake Worth, Florida, and Curt (Doreen) Smith of Elmwood; one sister, Fern Mitchell; six grandchildren,
Jarame (Tina) Runyon, Shantal (Jason) Pettry, Robert (Amanda) Johnston, Nikki (Cody) Rogers, Zachary (Marbeth) Johnston, and Ian Smith; thirteen great-grandchildren, Madi, Alexa, Madyson, Briahana, Baelee, Jayde, Kaden, Payton, Gavin, Jensen, Lily, Tristan, and Nola; and nine great-great-grandchildren, Laken, George, Axel, Reese, Leah, Scarlett, Runyon, Wyatt, and Birdie.
Iva was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Walter Knox, Marlyn Knox, George Knox, and Boots Knox; and one sister, Unie Moshier.
Iva was a longtime resident in Elmwood for over 65 years. She was a longtime Bethel Bible Church member before later joining the Elmwood United Methodist Church. She was very involved with women’s ministries at the church.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. A funeral will follow at 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Elmwood Township Cemetery. The food and fellowship location will be announced the day of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elmwood United Methodist Church, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and Alzheimer’s Association.
