She was born on February 21, 1924, in Raritan, IL to George and Marian (Barnett) Voorhees.
She married Kenneth Palmer on September 21, 1942, in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1984.
Surviving is her son, George (Ginger Taylor) Palmer of Florida, two grandchildren, George (Nicole) Palmer Jr, Mary (Erich) Linnemann and one great grandchild, Mackenzie Palmer.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and John Voorhees.
She was a former member of the County Board of Supervisors and retired as the school secretary from the Canton School District #66. She was a active volunteer for the Graham Hospital and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Her pastimes included playing Bridge and crocheting.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
