She was born on December 9, 1961 in Watervliet, MI to Richard and Dorothy (Henry) Hamilton. They preceded her in death along with her step father Arthur Bitner.
She married Daniel Smith on June 12, 2011 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Jeannie (Dauquan Terry) Hamilton of Davenport, IA, Naomi (Jason Carson) Baker of Cuba, siblings; Richard “Budd” Hamilton of Canton, James Hamilton of Stevensville, MI, Charles Hamilton of Niles, MI, Patricia Brown of AZ, Ronald (Rose Hitchcock) Hamilton of Benton Harbor, MI, Donald Hamilton of Benton Harbor, MI, Regina Burgett of Canton, Coral (David) Nichols of Yates City two grandchildren, Alex Hamilton, Hannah Baker, one great grandchild, Arabella Constance, one grandchild and one great grandchild on the way and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by, five siblings; Paula Rodriguez, William Hamilton, Anna Eckley, John Hamilton and Charlotte Hamilton.
Maggie worked as an inserter for the Canton Daily Ledger for five years and was an Avon distributor for over 30 years. She was a member of Bethesda Pentecostal Church in Pekin. She loved computer games including, Search and Find and Hidden Treasures. Watching Supermarket Sweep, Jeopardy, NCIS and doing Crosswords were her favorite pastimes. Her family was important to her, She loved many and was loved by many.
Visitation will be from 11-1 pm Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials can be made to the family.
