Janice M. Blakeley

Janice Marie Blakeley, 67, of Bath passed away at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia. She was born on August 10, 1955 in Canton, Illinois to Jim and Mary (Pearson) Lacey. She married Richard Blakeley in Mt. Zion, Illinois on December 16, 1973.

Janice is survived by her husband, Richard Blakeley of Bath; children, Sharon Blakeley and Austin (Niko) Blakeley; grandchildren, Trenton (Liv) Blakeley and Anissa Blakeley; siblings, Dianne Todd and John (Susan) Lacey; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Susie Lacey; and brother-in-law, Jim Todd.
Janice owned a business reupholstering furniture for over 30 years. She enjoyed baking and was well-known for her delicious cookies and popcorn balls that she made for Halloween. Janice was on the Bath Town Board for over 20 years. She was involved with the Easter egg hunt and Christmas celebrations in Bath and made May Day baskets for local seniors. She especially loved spending time with her family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at noon at the Lodge (a.k.a. the Old Church) in Bath.
