He was born on December 22, 1934, in Palistine Illinois, to Ralph and Bessie (Owen) Decker. They preceded him in death along with five brothers, Martin, Marshall, Ralph, Owen and Jay, one sister Martha, and one great grandchild.
Charles is survived by his wife, Agnes “Eileen” (Dare) Decker, whom he married on December 31, 1969 in Canton.
Also surviving are four children, Betty (Brian) Bishop, Stephanie (Dana) Parson, Lena (John) Winters, and Monika Henelly, one brother Harry Decker, seven grandchildren, Braden (Lindsey), Brittney (Adam), Chad (Danielle), Matt, Jacob, Tanner, and Macie, and eleven great grandchildren.
Charles retired from the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War. He enlisted in 1953 and retired as a Sergeant in 1973.
He enjoyed fishing, Nascar, and woodworking. Most of all he loved spending time with all of his grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A graveside funeral service will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton following the visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight.
