June E. Shields

June Ellen Shields, 91, of Greenview passed into Heaven to be with the Lord on February 13, 2023. She was born on June 29th, 1931 the daughter of Carl and Clara Zessin in Greenview. June and Harvey Shields were married on December 30, 1951 in Kenney, IL.

June is survived by her children Jewel (Dick) Eldridge of Greenview; Rita (Ken) Nolan of Greenview; Wayne Shields of Lincoln, IL; Bryan (Donna) Shields of Phoenix, AZ; Sheryl (Shields) Garcia of Springfield; Eric Shields of New Holland; Daryl (Kim) Shields of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Cassie, Seth, David, Savanna, Amie, Isaac, and Isabel; 6 great grandchildren, Eleanor, Sierra, Bralyn, Beckett, DW, and Everly; daughter in law Chery (Gragg) Stacy of Greenview; and sister Betty (Zessin) Hartley of Petersburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, one son Wm. Karlyn Shields, and several brothers and sisters.
June was a homemaker and wonderful mother to 8 children. She was also a member of the Sweetwater Christian Church.
A graveside service will be held for June on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Sugar Grove Cemetery near Sweetwater, IL at 1:30 PM. Pastor Mike Nichols will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Sweetwater Christian Church.
