Dale M. Selph, 87, of Table Grove, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at his home.
He was born February 12, 1936, in Ellisville Township, to Milton and Alene (Ryan) Selph. He married Margaret A. “Butch” Selph on June 1, 1956. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Bobby) Vaughn, two sisters, Phyllis (Jack) Sublet and Martha (Jim) Bodenhamer, one great-grandchild, and his beloved dog, Ella
He is survived by his son, Danny Selph of Table Grove, five grandchildren, Haily (Jed) Rhoades, Karly (Charlie) Hite, Brandon (Rachel) Selph, Katlyn Selph, Jordon Selph and eight great-grandchildren.
Dale was a laborer for Homer Fertilizer and Chadco. He went to work for Ryco when they opened in Bushnell in 1987, retiring from there in January, 2022.
He enjoyed raising goats, farming and horse racing. He bred performance quarter horses, later changing to performance thoroughbred horses in the early 1970’s, last having ownership of a race horse in 2005.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will have private services at a later date. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home & Crematory in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
