Betty married Aldo Tonelli in October 1954, they had two sons Dana and Kevin
She later married Donavan Herring in January 1977 He dies March 2000
She and Donavan were co-owners of the IGA store retiring in 1987
Betty was cub scout den mother, Past president of Cuba PTA, American Legion Auxiliary of Cuba, Junior and Senior Women’s club. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for 50 years.
She loved to entertain and had many parties for her church friends and Sunday school class.
She loved to bake and made many cookies at Christmas. She was an excellent cook and pie maker. Her grandchildren will remember for years to come when she made cookies for every holiday when they were young.
She belonged to Wesley United Methodist Church and the Old Timers Sunday School class. Canton Women’s club & Sigma Phi Gamma
She loved to play bridge and belonged to many bridge clubs and also loved to work in her yard and had beautiful flowers. She did this into here nineties. She was proud of her yard and beautiful home.

Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday May, 10, 2023 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton, IL. Visitation will be held the same day from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the church. Rev. Dr. Shalom Renner will officiate. Burial will follow service at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton, IL.
