Dick was an avid outdoor lover. He and his family took countless cross-country trips, loading up the rambler and heading west for family vacations. Bird watching was a favorite past time of his. He could identify just about every bird he came across. Many birds have benefited from the bird houses he built. Dick was also a train lover. At one point, half of his basement was transformed with his elaborate lionel train track master pieces. Gardening is where you would find in the evening. Family, friends, neighbors and probably a few strangers have all benefited from his love of fresh fruit and vegetables. Family time was treasured by Dick. He never missed an occasion to be with family. Including his grandchildren.
