Elizabeth Kathleen "Buffy" Harbin

Elizabeth Kathleen “Buffy” Harbin, 37, of Mason City, passed away Saturday night, June 4, 2022. She was born July 21, 1984, in Lincoln to Stephen and Alisha (Johnson) Harbin.

Buffy was a graduate of Illini Central High School and graduated from Parkland College. Her favorite subject was English; she was an avid reader, who also loved to creatively write.
Buffy was employed as an Assistant Clerk for the City of Mason City. She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Mason City.
She is survived by her son, Bryson James Blane, his father, Ryan Blane, her grandparents, Jim and Virgie Johnson, all of Mason City, and grandmother, Phyllis Harbin, of Greenview, her mother, Alisha K. (Ken) Siler, of Tolono, her father, Stephen J. (Diana) Harbin, of Greenview, three sisters, Sara (Danny) Hissong, of Mahomet, Nicolle (Josh) Koenig, of Tolono, and Casey Naylor (Phillip Knee) of Champaign, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jimmie Harbin, whom she loved dearly and has now joined in heaven.

Her greatest desire in life was to become a mother. God finally blessed her with Bryson at the age of 30, and he was the light of her life. She often sang “You are my sunshine” to Bryson, and she was a ray of sunshine to many.

The family will receive friends on Thursday morning, June 9, 2022 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City 603 East Chestnut Street. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, in Greenview. The Rev. James Sprinkel will officiate.
