Alice L. Martin

Alice L. Martin, 86, of Forest City passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at 9:41 p.m. at Timbercreek Nursing Home in Pekin. She was born on August 28, 1935 in Topeka, Illinois to Virgil G. and Lelia Ann (McClughn) Martin.


Alice is survived by her four children: James “Jim” R. (Nancy) Morris, Jr. of Forest City, Sonda (Glenn) Wright of Ludlow, Kentucky, Alice L. Morris of Kingman, Arizona, and William Charles Agee of Melbourne, Australia, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, sister, Nancy Bitner of Quiver Beach, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Lelia Marie Fitzgerald, grandson, Paul Lucas, seven sisters, and two brothers.

Alice was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Havana. She was a homemaker and sold Tupperware for many years. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandkids. She was a big jokester and loved to laugh.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery near Topeka.

Memorial donations may be made in Alice’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Online condolences can be left for her family at www.hurleyfh.com.
