Maquon - Velda Faye Plumer, 86, of Maquon, passed away, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at her home.
She was born on February 2, 1935, in Trivoli to Frank and Lida (Bitner) Clauson.She married Robert W. Plumer on December 1, 1957 in Trivoli. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2006.
She is survived by five children, Clinton (Pam) Plumer of London Mills, Kelley Plumer of Mesa Arizona, Clayton (Donna) Plumer of Farmington, Kristine (David) Mason of Maquon, and Koleen (Anthony Raes) Plumer of Fairview, Eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, four brothers, Cecil, Eldon, Dean and Don and two sisters, Dorothy Geltmaker and Shirley Harman.
Velda took great pride in working on the farm with her husband. She would do all the cooking, cleaning and lawn chores. She was a member of the Rapatee Union Church.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 11 am at the Trivoli Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Easter Seals or to Galesburg Rescue Mission.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton has been entrusted with arrangements.
