Vera Belle Richardson

Vera Belle Richardson, 84, of Bath, Illinois, passed away at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, at 3:15 p.m., on Saturday, June 8, 2024. She was born August 10, 1939, in Bath, to Clinton and Esther (Kolves) Lindsay. She married George Richardson on April 27, 1957. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2006.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by three sons: Rick (DeAnne) Richardson, of Havana, Brad (Paula) Richardson, of Bath, and Randy Richardson, of DeLand, Florida; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and other family members as well as many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three siblings: Marjorie Clark, Leota Eilman, and Arthur Lindsay.
Mrs. Richardson was a graduate of Bath High School. She was a proud Navy Wife. She worked as a licensed forklift operator, she worked at the Naval Ordinance Station. She later worked as a beautician, school bus driver, and casino switchboard operator at Copa Casino in Mississippi. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, crocheting, quilting and solving Soduku puzzles. She was an amateur HAM Radio operator with the call sign of KB9QNK.
A family visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 1:00 until 2:00 at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m., at Bath Cemetery.
