He was born on February 11, 1935 in Canton to Dale Franklin and Jesse M. (Browning) Chambers.
He married Janet Hammond on January 18, 1954. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2019.
Surviving are his children, Brad (Kathy) Chambers of Macomb, Linc Chambers of Macomb, Darren (Kathy) Chambers of Fairhope, AL, Christopher (Vicky) Chambers of Baraboo, WI, Rachel (Benn) Liechti of Chula Vista, CA, grandchildren, Jesse, Jennifer, Jessica, Shane, Mallory, Hannah, great grandchildren, Emmett, Emma, Jack, Nora Kate, Madelynn, Amelia, Roman, Ryden, Ashtyn, Austyn and sister-in-law, Judy Chabers of Royal Oak, MI.
Also preceding him in death is one brother, Richard and one sister, Patricia Parkins.
David served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. He graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in Engineering. He began his working career with Collins Radio in Marion, IA and later for Diebold Safe Company in North Canton, OH. He lastly owned and operated Prairieland Service Store and Prairieland Rental in Macomb from 1975-1999. After his retirement together with his daughter opened Prairie Trader. David enjoyed the outdoors. He traveled in the RV with his wife throughout the country. He took his kids hunting, camping, fishing and boating on the Mississippi when they were younger.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. Burial of his ashes along with his wife will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Canton at a later date.
