Diane Hollis

Diane Marie Schultz Hollis, 77, of London Mills, IL., passed away at her residence on June 13, 2024 and now rests in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.. She was born to William and Clara (Siebels) Schultz on April 30, 1947, in Peoria, IL. When Clara passed away, William later married Mildred Lightfoot Threw and she was adopted by her new loving mother.


Diane was preceded in death by her father, both her mothers, two stillbirth sons, and one infant grandson, Jonathan David Rubendall. She married Gary Dean Hollis on June 5, 1965, at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, IL.: the church where Diane was baptized, confirmed, and instilled the foundation of her faith that she shared with her daughters.


She is survived by five loving daughters and their families: Karen (David) Rubendall of Crozet, VA.; Karla (Jack H.) Schleich of Fairview, IL.; Kristin (Eric) Walters of Centralia, MO.; Kathy (Don) Gray of Aledo, IL, and Korinne Hollis of Dubuque, IA. Diane is survived by eleven grandchildren: Austin (Alyssa) Schleich of Marshalltown, IA.; Anthony Schleich of Fairview, IL.: Laura and Daniel Rubendall of Crozet, VA; Kody (Rachel Riegel-fiance), Kylee, Kaelyn, and Kayne Walters of Centralia, MO; and Matthew, Megan, and Mason Gray of Aledo, IL. She is also survived by her brother, Dale Schultz of Trivoli, IL and sister, Donna Schultz Xidis of DeKalb, IL.


Diane grew up on a dairy farm outside Bartonville, IL. and graduated from Limestone High School in 1965. Her life’s work was her children and grandchildren for whom Diane lovingly and selflessly put their needs above her own. Her daughters always came first, as she supported all of their endeavors and aspirations. Gary and Diane also farmed their entire lives together.


Continuing with her love for kids and livestock, she was a 4-H leader for over 20 years and was a co-founder of the Fairview Farmers 4-H Club. She had a career for over 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier out of Galesburg, IL.


Visitation will be held at Oaks Hines Funeral Home, in Canton, IL. on Tuesday June 18, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.


A funeral service will be held at the Fairview Reformed Church, in Fairview, IL. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be immediately following the funeral service at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, IL.


In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Fairview Fire Department.
