Carl W. Brown

Lewistown- Carl William Brown, 83, was born October 1, 1940 to Lyle and Maureen (Bordner) Brown in Fulton County and passed away June 6, 2024 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House with family at the bedside.


Surviving are 3 children, Joseph (Darla) La Tour of Ava, MO; Bryan (Lisa) Brown of Lewistown, and Kellie (Rob) Eduvas of Le Claire, IA. Six grandchildren, Rikki (Robert) Grassel of Auburndale, WI; Jacob Brown of Washington, Shelby Burgess of Manito, Heidi (Aaron) Daniels of Broken Arrow, OK; Josh (Courtney) La Tour of Ava, MO; and Drew Brown of Goldboro, NC; and currently serving in the US Air Force and deployed overseas. Eight great grandchildren, Christopher Burgess, Parker Burgess, Carter Brown, Avery Burgess, Henley Grassel, Dawson Brown, Hudson Daniels and Harlow Daniels.


Carl was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Kenneth Brown, Donnie Brown, Dixie Collins, Dick Brown, and twin brothers passing shortly after birth, and one grandson, Sean Burgess.


Carl served in the US Navy on the USS Salamonie AO-26. Carl was an avid horseman, he loved the rodeo and old westerns. He enjoyed deer hunting, mushroom hunting, the great outdoors, and being with friends and family.


Cremation will be accorded per Carl’s wishes. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday June 29, at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Joseph La Tour officiating. There will be no visitation. Following the memorial service a military service will be conducted by the US Navy, Lewistown VFW Post 5001, and Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. Carl supported St. Jude Pediatric Cancer research. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude in his honor. Online condolences may be made at henrylange.com.
