Marjorie Ann (Bohm) Friedrich, 89, of Havana passed away at 8:58 pm on Thursday, May 30th, 2024. She was born March 16th, 1935, in Kilbourne to Orville and Dorothy (Blakeley) Bohm. She married A. Robert Friedrich on March 25th, 1956. He was the love of her life, and they were happily married until his death on October 29, 2008.
Marjorie was a member of Havana Church of Christ where she held several jobs, including Sunday School teacher. She was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed watching them either from home or in the stands. She worked for Gerster’s Bakery and Havana National Bank for 45 years. After her retirement, she waited tables at her son Mark’s restaurant, Grandpa’s, where she was referred to by all as simply “Grandma”.
Marjorie is survived by two sons: John R. Friedrich and Mark (Denise) Friedrich, both of Havana; five grandchildren: Andrew Robert (Lisa) Friedrich, Ben Friedrich, Mathew (Sarah) Blakeley, Jeanette (Tony) Gathman, Justin (Morgan) Friedrich, all of Havana; and six great-grandchildren: Riley Megan Friedrich, Landon Webb, Conrad and Sutton Blakeley, and Ames and Lucy Gathman. Also surviving is one sister: Janet Lafary of Stronghurst, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one granddaughter: Megan Ann Friedrich, and siblings: Robert and Richard Bohm, Phyllis Graham, and Elnora Gilson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 at 11:00am at Havana Church of Christ, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Bill Boyce will officiate.
