Danny is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jill (Clayberg); his two children, Sandra (Scott) Pyle of Westfield, IN, and Danny (Becky Dowell) Richards II of Bartonville, IL; and four grandchildren; Rebecca (Justin) Warren of Lafayette, IN, Scotty (Meghan) Pyle III of Sheridan, IN, Dominick Richards, and Sierra Richards both of Canton, IL. He was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Leelund. His siblings -Steven (Sharon) Richards of West Lafayette, IN, Penny (Ray) Atkinson of Washington, IL, and Karen (Jack) Stanton of Peoria, IL- also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Danny retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in 2005 after 30 years of dedicated service.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Later in life, he found simple joy in chopping wood for his firepit. He was also a practical jokester, bringing laughter and lightheartedness to those around him. A devoted Christian, Danny loved sharing his faith with others and lived a life marked by steadfast belief.
A funeral service will be held at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18,2026 with a visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Reverend Mike Burgess will officiate. Interment will follow at Smithville Cemetery, Hanna City, IL. Memorials may be made to the International Conservative Holiness Association.
